I just want to thank you for our wonderful trip to Anemospilia. I have wanted to visit this site since reading about it in 1981, and you helped make my wish come true. We had a wonderful time and were especially grateful for your help in arranging with the antiquities authorities for our visit and for translating the comments of George from the Arkhanes museum.

Our group of 10 had a wonderful experience visiting Crete. George is extremely knowledgeable and a very professional guide. We learned about the history of Crete and along the way had delicious food. We ask George to take us off the beaten path and he did not disappoint……. the views and experience was amazing. Thank you so much George. Take care.

My husband, son and I were looking for a knowledgeable guide who could also show us the cultural side of Crete. George was amazing. He not only brought the history of all the sites, including Knossos, to life, he took us to amazing restaurants and showed us a side of Crete you would only see if you were a local. If you’re looking for a great person to spend your holiday with, look no further!

George organised a wonderful tour which imparted knowledge to all members of our family, this was done with both passion and humour. He introduced us to Crete both ancient and not so ancient. His love for all things Cretan from the myths, history to the local cuisine was very impressive. In short we will definitely be using his services again and would recommend his services as a guide if you want a unique and friendly experience. He is also very punctual.

George was a first class guide from start to finish. The booking was easy to do. He arrived a few minutes early. He took us round the Palace of Knossos and imparted extensive local information of interest on the way. He guided us round the Palace with great factual command and descriptive detail. His knowledge was very good, his explanations clear. He then showed us other very interesting parts of the locality and stopped of at a favourite local restaurant that served delicious local cuisine. He returned us to our hotel. He was thoroughly charming and made our trip for us. I would be happy to recommend him to others.

We spent two days with George in early September. We travel a bit and normally try and find local guides who can give us a personal service, we can thoroughly recommend George. On day 1, George arranged for us to visit Knossos – ensuring that we beat the queues and large crowds – although we had read about it, George provided us with some interesting information, his knowledge was good and he put some of his own interpretation on it which showed to me that he wasn’t reciting a guide book. Afterwards we went to the archaeological museum, again George’s knowledge was excellent and he was able to give us some additional information on the exhibits. The museum itself is disappointing, mainly due to extensive renovations – which hopefully allow more storytelling. On Day 2 we went to Spinalonga via Elounda which was superb and again George provided us with some great insights. In addition we lunched at two fabulous but different restaurants. We felt he was professional, punctual and with great love of the subject and history of Crete.

We just returned from a cruise to Greece and met George on the island of Crete. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with him. We learned a great deal about the areas that we visited and would definitely recommend George as a great guide. He took us to a wonderful place for lunch which all of us enjoyed. All in all it was a great experience and made our trip to Crete very special for all of us.

Georgios and Crete. A great day with the professor (he has a degree in physics) exploring Minoan ruins and solving the world’s problems. A quiet demeanor and a depth of knowledge about his subject and the world. This trip has opened my eyes to ancient history like none before. Far more than a guide book, Georgios expanded on the findings and theories that define these ancient peoples. And he did it in the shade, most important if touring in July. Thanks Georgio from me and my family.

We spent a day with George in July when visiting Crete for the first time. It was absolutely worth it having him as our private guide, as our stay in Crete was short and we wanted to make the most out of it. We communicated a number of times beforehand and George proved to be a very reliable guide and knowledgable source of information that made this day unforgettable. We enjoyed our conversations and the insights we got, not just into the sites and rich history but also about life in Crete today. HIghly recommended.
Thanks so much. -

I had a great two days touring the island with George. I gave George the gist of what I wanted to do and see and he came up with an itinerary that made my trip more delightful than it otherwise would have been doing it myself. He scheduled things to avoid crowds and knew the ins and outs of the island. Because he is so knowledgeable, on every aspect of the island (history, culture, flora fauna) I felt like I came away with a greater understanding and education than before I arrived. Besides giving a great tour, George has a very engaging personality. He’s easy to converse with about a wide range of subjects and is often as curious to learn about you and your home, as he is excited to share information about his. You wont regret contacting George.

For 15 years now I have always engaged qualified tour guides with my tour groups in Italy France and Greece. A great tour guide is the lasting impression and representation that travellers take home with them. My role is to stand back and observe not just the guide but the reaction of my customers as the guide goes about walking us through history. George provided my group with a tour of Knossos in Irakleio Crete but it became apparent that his skills far extended beyond just Knossos as his presentation clearly engaged my customers in relaying the history like he had lived it himself while speaking to and paralleling modern day Crete all with a professional style and a sense of humour. We will be back and look to have George show us more of this wonderful island.

In the course of two pleasant days, George took us to Knossos, the Archaeological Museum in Iraklio, Gortys, Phaestos, and Agia Triada. His excellent command of English made it easy for us to make advance arrangements by email and then to take in the wealth of information he had to offer. We found him always prompt, courteous and professional, but his main strength is his extensive knowledge of Cretan history, culture, geography, geology, plants, animals, food, and anything else you can think of. Talking with him is always interesting, and also fun. We had a very good time with George, and came away with a deeper experience of the archeological sites — and Crete in general — than we could have found without him. We recommend George highly.

Not only did we book George for one tour of the Minoan ruins — when my child got sick, we booked him a second time to make sure all in the family could see Crete culture, history, art and artifacts through his knowledge and experiences. His story telling style and humor made everything accessible for our children. He answered all of our questions in detail. In short, he helped Knossos and Irakleio come to life for all of us in a very special way. The arrangements were easy to make. Everything went according to schedule. I look forward to going back to Crete and hiring George again. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
